History

Liver Stamp

In 1969 Stephen Gerrard and his friend Gordon left their hometown of Liverpool to hand deliver a demo tape to Apple Records. On their return they spent many weeks waiting in anticipation for a response from the Beatles. Like the hundreds of other hopeful young musicians who sent in their dreams on tape, they predictably received a rejection letter. Not taking it to heart, Stephen never gave up hope and continued to write songs, including this response to Apple, which documents the story of his youthful naivety, ambition and determination.
